A plateful of chicken tikka kebabs

Chicken Tikka

Makes: 4 servings

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

“Chunks of chicken” is the loose translation of this Chicken Tikka dish.The chicken is marinated in a spicy yogurt sauce. You can use the oven, grill or broiler to cook this dish.

Ingredients:

MARINADE
1/2 TBSP paprika
1 tsp Kashmiri Chili Powder*
2 TBSP Exotic Whole Garam Masala*
1 1/2 TBSP lemon juice
4 cloves garlic
2 inches ginger
1/2 cup cilantro
1/2 cup plain yogurt

OTHER
1 lbs chicken, cubed
lemon (to squeeze over top)

Instructions:

MARINADE

1. Put all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Season with salt to taste.

2. Put chicken and marinade in a container, mix thoroughly, cover and put in the fridge to marinate overnight (or at least 3 hours).


COOKING

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.

2. Thread chicken cubes onto skewers and put them on a cookie sheet or baking tray.

3. Roast for 15-20 minutes uncovered, until the chicken is cooked thoroughly and browned on the edges.

4. Serve with wedges of lemon, or use to make Chicken Tikka Masala.
