In India, white sandalwood powder has been used for centuries as a cosmetic with claims that it wards off wrinkles, alleviates acne, lightens dark spots, and promotes wound healing.
Indian sandalwood, called Chandana in Sanskrit, was a valuable gift from ancient India to the world. Even before it became popular in China and Europe, it was already very important in Indian culture, deeply entwined with its culture, rituals, and mythology. The center part of the sandalwood tree, called the heartwood, was especially sacred. People made a paste from it and used it in Hindu rituals, ceremonies, and meditation.
While many other brands of sandalwood powder are made from the bark of the tree, they're usually less potent and effective because they contains less pure sandalwood oil. The active ingredient of sandalwood oil, alpha-santalol, is concentrated more highly in the tree's roots. That's why our powder is made exclusively from the roots of the sandalwood tree.
White Sandalwood is recognized for its ability to balance Pitta and Kapha doshas, providing a cooling effect for both the body and the skin.
Our powder is:
- Crafted from the root of the sandalwood tree. The root contains maximum amount of natural sandalwood oil, making this naturally more effective than other sandalwood products.
- All natural. Absolutely no artificial scents, colors, or additives of any kind.
- Extra-Fine for Use on Skin. Ground into an extra-fine powder, it's perfect for using on the sensitive skin of your face.
- Aromatic. Unlike red sandalwood, the white variety is a potent aromatic.
How to Use White Sandalwood Powder on Skin
1. Recipe For Dry Skin.
- 1 tsp white sandalwood powder
- 1/4 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp rose water
2. Recipe for Oily Skin
- 1 tsp white sandalwood powder
- 1 tsp orange juice
- 1/2 tsp rose water
3. Recipe for Normal Skin
- 1 tsp white sandalwood powder
- 1/2 tsp manuka honey
- 1 tsp rose water
4. Instructions
Mix all ingredients together into a paste, then apply the paste onto freshly cleaned face or the affected skin you want to treat.* Let it dry on the skin for 15-20 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. Pat your skin dry and apply your favorite moisturizer.
*NOTE: Before you apply to your face the first time, we recommend testing for a potential sandalwood allergy. Apply a small amount of the paste on the inside of your arm to test. If you have no adverse reaction, proceed with the above instructions.

Pure Indian Foods orders are processed, shipped, and delivered on business days: Monday-Friday (excluding weekends and major holidays). Please allow 2-4 business days for processing depending on product availability and order volume.
HOW LONG IS TRANSIT TIME
USA: On average, 5-10 business days.
Canada: On average, 6-10 business days, but sometimes longer to get through customs.
International: We do not have an estimated time for other countries.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
International orders outside the USA may attract additional customs, taxes and duties upon entry to your country; this is the responsibility of the customer. If the package is refused by your country's customs department and it it sent back to us, the shipping cost will be non-refundable. Please be aware, there may be delays.
DO YOU OFFER LOCAL PICK UP?
We are online-only.
We want our customers to be satisfied with the quality of our products. If a product is damaged during shipping or you are unhappy with the product, simply let us know within 14 days after delivery, and we will try to resolve the situation to your satisfaction in a way that is fair to both parties. We are a small company and try to do our best for each situation. Please contact us if you have any questions prior to purchasing.
NOT SATISFIED?
If you receive the order and you are not satisfied with it, you can return the merchandise in original packaging within 14 days along with the receipt. Once we receive your package, we will refund the amount charged of the items returned. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the shipping costs, unless the product is damaged or defective.
ORDER REFUSED
If you refuse the order or if the carrier was not able to deliver it, we will give full refund less the shipping charges.
INCORRECT ADDRESS
If the shipping address that you supply is found to be incomplete or incorrect then you are responsible for the additional charges imposed by the shipping company for correcting the address.
RETURNED TO SENDER / UNDELIVERABLE
If we send you a shipment and it gets returned back to us as it was undeliverable to the address provided, we will refund the amount you had paid for the products only. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the shipping cost. We offer the option to reship the same order to an alternative address for an additional shipping fee.
