We at Pure Indian Foods take your safety seriously and are dedicated to following California Proposition 65 guidelines. As part of our commitment, we provide the following warning for all products linked to this page:

"WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."

California's Proposition 65 requires that companies like ours give special warnings for products containing chemicals known to the state to cause these health concerns if the exposure levels exceed certain limits.

The chemical in question is lead, which can naturally occur in soil, plants, and water. Our products are made from dried herbs grown in nature, and we do not add lead intentionally. However, California law mandates a warning if a product could lead to ingesting more than 0.5 micrograms of lead in a day. This threshold is extremely low (1000 times lower than the level of exposure that has been shown to have no observable effect on humans or animals) and set to ensure safety.

Despite the low risk, we choose to issue this warning to comply with Proposition 65 and ensure transparency with our customers.

Please Note: It is a well-known fact that Prop 65 has spawned lawsuits against several thousand companies that distribute, store, manufacture or sell products containing Prop 65 chemicals. These lawsuits, in some cases with no merit, have presented costly challenges to defend against opportunist individuals taking advantage of regulations mandated by Prop 65.
