Tasting Notes
-
Medium Roast
With a surprisingly light taste and a slight brown sugar aftertaste, our medium roast is not acidic, but clean and balanced with subtle notes of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg.
-
Medium-Dark Roast
With a bold nutty taste and hints of bittersweet chocolate, our medium-dark roast has notes of straw and tobacco. It's strong, yet far less acidic than your average cup of coffee.
Nuances in Flavor
Subtle floral flavors are a defining quality of higher elevation premium coffees. These light notes start to disappear with longer roasting, adding more bitterness and dark chocolate flavor. As in an orchestra, too much of any strong note blunts the more subtle ones. Clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg are subtle, whereas dark chocolate is very potent. This is why our Medium Roast is lighter with more subtle flavors, whereas our Medium-Dark is more chocolatey and deep.

The Story of Indian Coffee & Crafting the First Organic Indian Roast in the US
A Tribute to Baba Budan
We honor the legendary Baba Budan — an Indian saint, coffee connoisseur, and the man who introduced coffee in Chikmagaluru.
We chose to name our coffee "LURU" to pay homage to his extraordinary legacy in the province.
